Irish Catholic Family Trees - Dorset, VT

1. McDevitt Extended Tree or Web   Except where otherwise noted, all of these trees are based on one big McDevitt tree (or web, really) which appears to have been put together in the 1970s and was based on family knowlege and interview. Much of the tree has therefore not be verified and should be used as a starting point only in any family research.  I do not know where the original 15-page, handwritten tree came from, but I assume it was a McDevitt.

This is only PART of the tree of Dorset/Rutland McDevitts.  Note that some McDevitt's were originally called McDeed when they came to America, but all the McDeeds in Dorset and Rutland switched to the McDevitt form.  You will also find McDeavitt, McDivitt, and McDavid on Census reports. In Ireland, the name could also be McDaid or McDade.  See also:
