Moods, Sensitivities and Modern Life
Last Updated 05/29/00

Touched With Fire: The relationship between moodiness and bipolar traits with ADD and creativity.

Brain Chemicals and the Modern Lifestyle:  Chemicals like serotonin, dopamine and insulin are affected by our modern lifestyles and are at the root of syndromes like ADD, depression, anxiety and blood sugar drops.  The good news is that you can take action to obtain more natural and healthier levels.

More stuff floating in my head:

The Highly Sensitive Person: Based on a book by Dr. Elaine Aron, the highly sensitive person is extremely responsive to environmental stimuli as well as internal thoughts.

Dabrowski's "Overexcitabilities": Dabrowski theorized that people born with overexcitabilities have a greater developmental potential, and overexcitabilities have been correlated with giftedness.  Dabrowski also believed that "disintegrations" or difficult times in one's life could be positive, leading one to question convention and gain wisdom, and that people with overexcitabilities are more likely to experience such "positive disintegrations."
