| Cub Scout Pack 268 spread woodchips on Oak
Valley Trail at Hope Lake. Spring 2006. Exposed tree roots had made the
trail a real ankle twister, but the chips helped out quite a bit.

Eagle Scout
Projects:
|
| In 1996, a crew of
Boy Scouts led by Vivek Bellore
built this bridge on Oak Valley Trail over the inlet to Hope Lake.
The approaches involved a lot of stonework. |
 |
Joshua Liposky built this kiosk and a set of
board walks at the Oak Valley trailhead on Hope Lake in 2001 as a
Scout project. The kiosk has two displays of 40"W x 32"H. |
 |
| David Holden and Troop 101 erected this kiosk
at the parking area on Shelton Avenue for the Dominick Trailhead and
Oak Valley Trail access. The kiosk has two display windows 34"
W x 36" H. This one has my favorite design for accessing the board and putting new
info on it. |
 |
| This kiosk and park bench at
Gristmill Trail were constructed by Andrew Lautenschlager and
about ten Scouts from Troop 28 in 2004. The kiosk has two large display windows, front and
back. They also cleaned up that end of the trail. Materials were donated by Shelton
Concrete and Stevenson Lumber in Monroe.

This kiosk at the
Shelton
Lakes Recreation Path trailhead on Pine Lake was added by
Steve Ng in 2004 as a Scout project. The kiosk has a display window of
22"W x 34"H |
 |
| The entrance to
Nell's Rock Trail got a major facelift
2004-2005. Royce York and fellow scouts cleared out mountains of brush and installed a fence
and gate as part of an Eagle Scout project to make this a substantial parking area.
The City responded by removing piles of concrete pipes, grading, and
spreading asphalt millings and wood chips.
|
 |
| The Turkey Trot trailhead is now a lot easier to find thanks
to a new kiosk, bridge and an asphalt millings base, courtesy of Scout Adam
Cleri and his helpers in 2005. This is located on Constitution Blvd across the
street from the middle school. |
 |
| The junction of Oak Valley and Dominick Trail is easier to
follow thanks to a new bridge, a stabilized approach to an existing bridge,
and new signs provided by John Lebate for his Eagle Scout project. |
  |
| Two substantial bridges for the Rec Path were built by
Spencer Tate & Troop in 2006. The bridges are located in the section
of trail that runs behind to Wesley Drive in Huntington Woods. |
