Meetings, work parties, guided hikes and other events

Trails Committee meetings are usually the first Weds. of the month, 5:30 pm, Room 303, City Hall, immediately followed by the Conservation Commission meeting at 7:00 pm.  Work parties are usually the third Saturday of the month at 8:00 summer, 9:00 winter, and are held if it is raining lightly.  To be notified of upcoming workparty events, please send me an email.

 * Raindates for workparties will happen only if there is heavy rain or thunderstorms on the day of the work party.  The core group of trail volunteers do tend to work in light showers and prefer to keep to the schedule if at all possible due to busy schedules.  If a raindate is being called, it will be published on this website as soon as I hear about it.   I will also send out an email to those people who have asked to be on the work party email list.  

**Raindates for guided hikes may happen even if rain or thunderstorms are simply threatening.  In such cases, we sometimes hold two hikes:  One on the originally scheduled date, and then one on the raindate so that people not wanting to hike in threatening weather can still enjoy the hike.  Raindate hikes will be announced on this page as soon as possible.   It has been my experience, however, that some of the best hikes are during "moody" weather when there is perhaps fog and a passing shower - so don't rule out a hike just because it's a little damp outside.
