1. Paugussett Trail: 8.7 miles of moderate to difficult hiking in Shelton and Monroe and Birchbank Mountain, which hosts a new loop trail as well as the Paugussett Trail.

2. Nicholdale Farm:
About 1.5 miles of easy nature paths on Land Trust property.

3. ***SHELTON LAKES GREENWAY: 10 mile network of trails including three loops blazed white (Oak Valley Trail, Nell's Rock Trail and Turkey Trot Trail) connected by two linear north-south trails (Shelton Lakes Recreation  Path, blazed yellow, and Dominick Trail, blazed blue).

4. Riverview Trail: 0.6 mile, easy to moderate hiking trail at Riverview Park leading down to the Housatonic River.

5. River Walk: 0.3 mile paved walk downtown along the Housatonic River at the "Slab" that will be extended to the Housatonic Dam.

6. Gristmill Trail: 0.3 mile easy trail along the scenic Far Mill River on public open space.

7. Far Mill River Park & Greenway: More than 2 miles of unmarked scenic trails along the river in Stratford and Shelton.

8. Tahmore Loop off of the Paugussett Trail, about 1 mile.  Shelton Land Trust and Indian Well State Park.

9. Boehm Pond Trail, west Shelton (Booth Hill/Mohegan area), about 1 mile round trip.

And just across our borders...

a. Webb Mountain Park AND the new Webb Mountain Discovery Zone: A network of hiking trails, scenic overlooks and camping in Monroe. The Discovery Zone has an interpretive system/outdoor classroom.
b.
Osbornedale State Park: A network of hiking trails along with the Kellogg Nature Center in Derby.
c. Derby Greenway:
1.7 mile paved path from the Derby-Shelton Bridge to Division Street at BJ's following two riverbanks.
d. Roosevelt Forest: 
5 miles of trails in this 250-acre town park in Stratford.
